Kalivia fylaktis
|
As you leave the picturesque village of Krioneri, the road leads to two settlements with the same name: Kalivia. Administratively they belong to two separate communities, those of Fylakti and Pezoula, from which they have "borrowed" the second synthetic of the word.
Before the creation of Plastira lake, residents worked in the fields of Nevropolis, but lived here. Their houses were simple, one-space, constructions made of shin-bones and mud. There, they stored agricultural products and their tools.
The first settlement, Kalivia Fylaktis, is built on the mountain slopes. It has a small, uphill road connecting it with the north part of Pezoula and St. Giannis of Fylakti.
