 Velouhi

Velouhi or Timfristos is the third in height mountain of Sterea Ellada. Its name is connected with important historic incidents. The village Velouhi has unique beauties attracting visitors all year round.
The highest mountain crest has an altitude of 2315m and many springs. During the Turkish and German rule, Velouhi was a refuge against conquerors.
Today, Velouhi is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Greece and attracts thousands of visitors especially during winter time. The ski center of Velouhi – Karpenissi offers all modern comforts and appropriate infrastructures to the travelers who choose it for their holidays.
Velouhi extends from the Rahi of Timfristos mountain to the banks of river Tavropos. It is covered with dense forests, small ravines and cliffs. At the north, west and south slopes of Velouhi you will see many rivers. The beautiful Karpenissi and capital of Evritania prefecture lies at the foothills of Velouhi. If you follow one of the paths you will find Stenoma and Agia Triada villages.
