Evritania is a mountainous prefecture located in the center of Sterea Ellada. Eastwards, it borders with the prefecture of Fthiotida, northwestwards with the prefecture of Etoloakarnania, while northwards it borders with Karditsa prefecture. Karpenissi, the capital of Evritania is built in a 960 m height, on the foothills of Timfristos mountain. It is a traditional city with majestic landscapes and hospitable people.

Evritania is the ideal destination for the lovers of sports, especially winter sports. It is called the “Switzerland of Greece”. The region is rather enchanting all year round. During summer the mountain slopes are verdurous of flowers and trees. While during winter time, this magnificent landscape turns into an alpine scenery.
Evritania is the paradise of winter and extreme sports. The ski center of Velouchi and the numerous ambulatory routes offer the chance to practice on ski and other activities. Alternatively you can cross over the canyon and relish wild nature. You can also try horse riding, mountain cycling, archery and trekking. If you are a lover of sea, try rafting, monoraft, canoe – kayak and hydrospeed in the rivers all around Evritania.

If you happen to be in the area, don’t miss visiting the traditional villages like Mikro Chorio, Megalo Chorio, Agrafa, Chrisso, Korischades, Velouhi, Domnitsa, etc. Each village has its own particular history. Take a stroll around the picturesque cobblestone pavements and let them enchant you.
