The Tower of Belenis is located close to the coastal settlement Alinda. It is an imposing building, built in 1925 by Parisis Belenis.
Today it is roofed under the Historic and Folkloric Museum of Leros. You will see a remarkable collection, characterized historic as its exhibits are not representative of any in the Folkloric museum. And that is because Leros’ society was urban already from the period 1880 – 1920.
Among the exhibits highly impressive is the off hand surgical bed and the sterilization oven from World War Two, when the tower functioned as a hospital.
