Lakki

Leros’ port is 4km southwest of Platanos, the island’s capital. It is the biggest natural port in our country located in the closed homonym cove. With all the modern infrastructures and the unity for pleasure boats, it is one of the safest ports in Mediterranean sea.
Lakki – comparably to the rest villages of the island – has a special glow. Tall, imposing buildings of peculiar architecture, most of which were built during the Italian possession and wide roads along the coast, create a modern state.
Parks and trees offer a cool breeze to visitors while touring around the island.
In Lakki you will see important historic and religious monuments. Distinguishes the church of Saint John Theologos, built in the beginnings of 10th century on the way to Gourna. It is one of the most remarkable byzantine churches in Dodecanese. In its interior are saved mosaics of the 11th century.
Swim in the settlement’s beach, organized with the possibility for water sports. If you are more of a quiet type, you can swim in the close beaches Koulouki and Merikies.
Laki has tourist development and it is considered as one of the most famous and cosmopolitan summer resorts in the island. In the region you can find hotels of all categories and rooms to let. As for entertainment, options vary. You will find bars and clubs with live music, but also a cool cinema. You can participate in cultural events that show the island’ cultural inheritance.
