The town of Afantou is the administrative center of the homonym municipal. It is located 2km south of the town. The settlement is built according to the traditional architecture of the island. Afantos beach with small pebbles and crystal clear waters is highly organized and has the appropriate infrastructures for all kind of sports. It is considered one of the densely populated in the island. Close to the beach is a modern golf court.
