The cavern of Chrisospilia is a great natural monument. It is considered one of the biggest caverns in Greece, although most of it remains unexplored. It is located 10m above the level of the sea. Its interior decoration is full of stalagmites and stalactites of various sizes and shapes that impress every visitor, as it took them several centuries to create.
This cavern is of big archaeological interest. It is the only cavern with ancient peoples’ names written in its walls. There have been found human skeletons and broken vessels.
