Arkasa

16km from the town is the coastal village Arkasa. It is built in a verdurous location and impresses with its green nature, beautiful beaches and important historic monuments.
In the hill of Paleokastro you will see the remains of the ancient town Arkesia. In the same region are also saved the remains of Saint Anastasia church dated from the 5th BC. It has beautiful mosaic floors, parts of which are in the church’s yard. The mosaic has now transferred to Rhodes museum.
While staying in the village visit the monasteries of Saint Sofia and Ipapantis.
Swim in the beaches of Agios Nikolaos and Agios Georgios. Just a few kilometers outside Arkasa is the settlement Finiki with the graphic fish port and the magnificent beaches Fokia, Adia, Akrotiri and Proni. Arkasa is a developing in tourism region where you will find hotels and rooms to let. There are also taverns and bars satisfying all music preferences.
