|
Paleopoli is a coastal village with big historic interest as it is built in the place of the ancient city of Andros.
It is located 16km west of Chora. The excavations brought into light the remains of the ancient city and among them important findings, such as vessels and sculptures. Here it was found the famous statue of god Hermes.
In the same region is the archaeological site of Zagora. It is the remains of a settlement from the Hellenistic period.
In Paleopoli swim in the homonym beach and eat in the seashore taverns.
If you want to extend your stay, there are rooms to let in the region.
