The cove of Korthios is a beautiful graphic fish village in the south part of the island, 24km from Chora.
Characteristic of the region is the traditional settlement, with houses of the known style of Cyclades islands. It always enchants visitors with the beautiful beaches and the endless shores with crystal clear waters.
The most famous and crowded beach of the region is of Mills, preferred by the lovers of windsurfing, as winds make it ideal for this sport. The beaches of Agia Aikaterini and of Vintzi are famous along with the most famous in the island “Tis Grias to Pidima”. The last one is in the north part of Cove Korthios and it is considered one of the most impressive sites in the island. Outstanding schist bulks with unique drawings that only nature can create, surround this small beach.
In the Cove of Korthios you will see the remains of Paleokastro, a monument of venetian period, the byzantine churches of Saint Nikolaos and Saint Ioannis and the byzantine monastery of Tromarhion. It is worth visiting the folkloric museum, which is showing the island's folkloric inheritance .
The Cove of Korhios is the trade and administrative center of the homonym settlement. Knowing the rest small settlements of the Municipal will fill you with beautiful pictures. Visit Korthi, Anode, Piso Meria, Kaparia, Kohilou, Paleokastro and the canyon of Didipotamaton. Pictures from daily life will impress you, as and the authentic beauty of the island.
