Kea or Jia, on the western side of the cycladic group, is extended in 121 sq. Km and in a distance of 12 n.m. (1hour 30 minutes) from Lavrio. The capital Hora or Julis , is situated in the location of ancient Julida preserving the characteristic cycladic color. High up it is the imposing Venetian castle bult in the place of the acropole of Julida. In a short distance is the curved in rock , Leodas of Kea.

Beautiful buildings of the capital are the townhall and the school. There are a lot of chapels and monasteries throughout Hora, the hills and the ravines of the island as Panaghia Gamila, Panaghia Rematiani, Evangelism. In the Archaeological Museum there are many interesting exhibits. Korrisia, the harbour of Kea named also by the inhabitants Livad, is built in the place of the Ancient City under the same name. Below the hill of Saint Triada it has discovered one of the most remarkable sculptured works of the Archaic age, Kouros of Kea.

Following the coastal road you will meet the beach Gialiskari and afterwards you reach the village Vurkari known for its architectural characteristics.

The settlement Pisses was built in the place of Ancient Piiessa, remnants of Acropolis preserved in a hill.

The bay of Pisses is the most enchanting of the island with immence seaside and marvellous sandy beach.

The village Koundouros with the impressive stonebuilt windmills and the wonderful beaches is in a distance of 15 km.

Southwest of Hora. From Koundouros you can visit the region of Ancient Karthaea, the most important city of the island during antiquity. Today is known as Polles.
