ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

Keas’ Archaeological museum is in the island’s capital. It is roofed under a building of the 1970 in order to host findings from excavations in the island.
Collections include findings from the Post Neolithic Age, the Early, the Middle and the Post Copper Age and an important collection from historic times (7th –2nd century BC).
The exhibits are divided into units and show architectonic parts, inscriptions, sculptures, anaglyphs, items for domestic use, vessels and coins.
Among them distinguish the marble small sculptures from the prehistoric settlement of Agia Irini, the headless statue of Niki and the famous Kouros of Kea, a sculpture from Mycenaec period, discovered in Korissia in 1930.
