Telendos
|
The small island of Telendos is right across the shores Myrties and Masouri. During ancient times it was adjusted to Kalymnos. In the beginnings of 6th century, after a severe earthquake, part of the island was disconnected and Telendos was created.
It has a small settlement with white houses of traditional architecture and a few permanent residents that mostly work with animal breeding.
You can visit Telendos by boat as an excursion and swim in the crystal clear waters. Characteristic of the beach is the dark – almost black – sand.
You will also see the remains of a byzantine castle and the church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
