Dryopida

Dryopida is in the south part of Kythnos, 8km from Chora. The region is inhabited since archaic times and has kept the same name.
While staying in Dryopida, enjoy a walk in the traditional settlement. Impressive is the fact that all houses in Dryopida are with two floors and have tiles. According to residents, this is due to that region has a long tradition in Pottery.
Visit the church of Agios Minas with a fine wooden temple and a throne. These are unique creations of folkloric art.
Close to the village is the cave “Katafiki”. One of the biggest unexploited caves in Greece with many stalactites and stalagmites. During World War Two, the cave was a refuge for residents.
From Dryopida you can reach the close beaches of Lefkes, Kalo Livadi and Agios Stefanos.
