Neraidohori

The beautiful Neraidohori is situated 52 km west of Trikala, in a 1140 m height.
It is one of the most beautiful villages in Trikala, built in an idyllic location. It has spectacular view to the villages of Mesohora, to the lake Megdova in Karditsa, to the Thessaly champaign and Neraida village. When the mountain crests are covered with snow during winter, the spectacle is magnificent.
People visit Neraidohori all year around, as it is ideal for climbing and hiking. The village was initially named Veternik and has suffered a lot of catastrophes by Turkish and German, who burnt big part of it in 1943.
It is worth visiting the monastery of Saint Paraskevi, 3 km form the village. It was founded during the 18th century. It is built on a hill and has magnificent view to the champaign of Pertouliotis river.
Really impressive is the church of Saint Nikolas decorated with impressive morals. This curch dates back to 1763.
