ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Syros archaeological museum is one of the first in our country. It was built in 1834 and it is roofed under the Municipal Edifice of Ermoupolis.
It hosts findings from excavations in the island and mostly in Halandriani, in the north part of the island. The museum also exhibits sculptures from the Hellenistic and Roman time, inscriptions and sepulchral steles.
CYCLADITIC ART MUSEUM
The museum of Cycladitic art was established in 1993, in order to teach new generations-through educational programs-the history and civilization of Cyclades islands during the 3rd millenium BC, known as the Syros-Keros civilization.
It is hosted in the first floor of the city’s Intellectual Center.
The visitor can see true copies of the authentic exhibits of Goulandris’ Museum.
CENTER OF TECHNICAL CIVILIZATION
The center of Technical Civilization has a remarkable collection of old machines from the island’s factories.
The Center covers four factories in the industrial zone of Ermoupolis. It has been given up the dyeworks of Katsimantis, the weaponry of Anerousis, the tannery of Kornilakis-Dedrinos and the textile factory of Velissaropoulos.
The Center in under the supervision of the neo-Greek Research Center. It aims to create an Industry and Shipping Museum, as and workshops designing experimental products.
