Lakka is in the north part of the island, 8km from Gaio. The settlement is built inside a safe cove. Dense vegetation that reaches up to the shore, in combination to the blue green Ionian waters create an idyllic picture. Swim in the beach of Monodendri and Harami. Worth visiting are the small ports of Arkoudaki, Orko and Exolitharo. For the lovers of windsurfing, there is a windsurfing club in Lakka.
The Byzantine church of Ypapanti, built in 1600, is one of the most important sites in the region. It has an impressive bell tower and a beautifully decorated chancel screen.
