Here is the port of Skiathos and all the shops. The capital was built in 1830, in the place of the old town.
The town is built according to the traditional island style, with influence of Pelios’ architecture. Small white house with tiled roofs, balconies and small yards with multi-coloured flowers create the feature of Skiathos.

Today only part of its walls are saved, while in the peninsula is located the old primary school, built in 1906 by Andreas Sygros. Nowadays it operates as Cultural Center and hosts cultural events. Right in front of Bourtzi entrance is Papadiamantis’ bust.
