Theriso
 |
The village of Theriso is built at the foothills of the White Mountains, located 15 km south of the city. Although it is not a major tourist destination, it is particularly well-known for its connection to the revolutionary activities of Eleftherios Venizelos. Specifically, it served as the headquarters of the great leader during his revolutionary struggle against Prince George.
Visitors to Theriso pass through the gorge named after Venizelos. The gorge stretches for 6 km, and its imposing cliffs rival the wild beauty of the other gorges in the region.
