Asfendiou village is built in the banks of mountain Dikeos, 14km from the town of Kos.
It is one of the most beautiful villages in the island that distinguishes for its green nature, beautiful scenes and long history. The village flourished during byzantine period. Many of the churches and monasteries were built then, saved until our days. Worth visiting is the monastery of Sotiros and the church of AsomatonTaxiarchon dated from the 11th century. Also the small church of Christ built on the top of mountain Dikeos (875m height).
