Salzburg is the most developed in tourism city of Austria after Vienna. It is built on a 425m height with natural beauties and unsurpassable architectural monuments.
Salzburg is a city of the west Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg.
The whole Old Town of Salzburg – where wheeled vehicles are not allowed - was nominated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The New Town lies at the west river banks, but there are many things to see at the east one as well.
Most people think that Salzburg became so popular because it was the birthplace of Mozart composer. This is partially true, but the fairy beauty of this city has made it an international tourist resort.
Already from the Roman Times, Salzburg was the most significant town in the area. It has mountains, lakes, the Salzkmmergut, as and the imposing mountain chains with the ski center and the waterfalls.
The narrow paths and the balconies of the old town will take you back to past eras.
You will have the chance to see the Palace of Mirabell with its wide gardens full of flowers, the Dom Cathedra, with the three brazen gates and the place where Mozart was baptized.
Don’t miss visiting Mozart’s residence where his personal things are kept.
Salzburg is also famous for the annual festival of classical music. Musical events were already held from the 18th century, but in 1917 the Festival was established annually.
This festival includes classical music recitals, concerts, opera and drama. It is held in old imposing buildings on Monks Hill.
