The region in its wide meaning include the major part of the beaches of the prefecture of Larissa. It distinguishes nevertheless in local region named under this name part of the coastal location belonging to the municipality of Meliboea including also Polydendri, the corresponding seashore and Rakopotamos of the village Sklithros. It is situated in a distance of 48 km. from Larissa and 13 km. east of Aghia. It is a location of particular natural beauty with a fantastic sandy beach extended long and wide, very clean light bluesea surrounded by green landscape covering all the fields and the around hills as far as the mountain Mavrovouni. In the middle of the new road leading from Aghia towards Aghiokampos you can make a small deviation to have the opportunity to admire the askitaria (ascites’place) and the church of St. Anargyri. Askitaria have wall paintings of the 12-17th century. Following the upper road you can reach the ruins of the byzantine castle of Skiti admiring the magnificent view. In the modern small port of Skiatha there are traces of the ancient port and samples of the religiousness of ancient people that have changed a by the sea rock in a place of deposition of their gifts dedicated to their gods. A little higher in Polydendri with its magnificent forest, there is the church of Theotokos (1568) and towards east the monastery of Gennissi of Theotokos (Birth of Virgin Mary) built in 1590.
