ABOUT PARGA

Full of vegetation Parga is resting in the crystal waters of Ionian sea, amphitheatrically built towards the sea leaning to the island of Panaghia (Virgin Mary).
It is in a distance of 494 km. from Athens. It is a calm place, a location with a lot of alternations of landscapes surrounded by olive groves and lace-like seasides. A series of green islets decorate the gulf of Parga.
You can wander in the picturesque narrow streets of the city as far as the top of the Venetian Castle that stands there imposingly ‘gazing’ the opposite of it islands of the Ionian sea. You can visit the Monastery of Panaghia Vlachernon built in the beginning of the 12th century, on the marvellous beach of Valtos. By boat you can go to the caverns located in the gulf of Lychnos.
You can also go on daily excursions to the around area where many historical monuments of the past are to be found giving the visitor the opportunity to get to know the ancient Greek civilization.
As for your night amusement Parga has a lot of picturesque taverns, restaurants, bars. The innumerable popular art shops offer a variety of souvenirs.
