ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
The archaeological museum of Lefkada is roofed under the Cultural Center of Lefkada Municipality. It hosts a remarkable collection of findings from different historic periods. From the middle Paleolithic age to the post roman times.
In a different room are exhibited the findings of the German archaeologist Dairpfeld, who had expounded the theory that Lefkada was Homer¢s Ithaca, but was never proved.
If you visit the museum you will also see ceramic items, jewels, statues, etc. Distinguishes the collection of tombs from the Early and Middle Copper Age in Nydri and in the ancient cemetery of Lefkada town.
PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Public Library was built in 1953 and it is hosted at Zoulinos residence, along with the Collection of Post-Byzantine Icons.
The library has many files (books, magazines, newspapers), old and new editions, as and a collection of Post-Byzantine icons of Ionian architecture. Most of them belong to Ionian painters (Doxaras, Roussos, Patsaras, etc).
PHONOGRAPH¢S MUSEUM
Phonograph¢s museum is private. It was created after the initiative of a collector, who gathered all rare items and created a remarkable collection, worth seeing. It has phonographs, records, various rare items and original decoratives.
CHARAMOGLIOS SPECIAL LIBRARY OF LEFKADA
Charamoglios library hosts only the works of Lefkadians. It has a remarkable collection of books and files, by Lefkadian authors or with matters related to the island.
Worth mentioning is that Charamoglios Library is included to Guinness book.
