Welcome to Blue Beach villas & apartments.
First thing in the morning, when you are admiring the view from your balcony, the sea is a sparkling silvery blue. By mid-day, when you are swimming in the crystal clear waters, which lap the pretty little beach, the sea is a rich translucent turquoise. By early evening, as you sip your drink and watch the sun go down, the sea is a deep, moody blue. These constantly changing colors were the inspiration behind the name for the collection of apartments called Blue Beach.
The spotless, well appointed, villas and apartments (recommended by "Rough Guide to Crete"), which can accommodate 2 to 6 people, come complete with private bathrooms, kitchenettes and balconies with wonderful view. The villas and apartments vary in style and location; all are within two minutes from the beach and provide clean attractive accommodation. Blue Beach has a swimming pool and a taverna with a bar with a great panoramic view to the beach and to the impressive mountains across. There you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner and taste a sumptuous selection of home cooked traditional local dishes or just enjoy a drink under the stars watching the sun setting over the bay.
Once a week, Manolis, B.B.'s exuberant owner has a "BBQ" or a "Greek evening" complete with Greek and Cretan music and dancing lessons. You can be taught how to dance: "syrtaki", "zeibekiko", and traditional Cretan dances.
Blue Beach has also a mini shop and a range of facilities such as windsurfing, diving and water-skiing. Best of all it has a sheltered, sandy beach just a second stroll from your apartment. It is also perfect and safe for children, fully equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas and excellent for water sports.
But the real charm of Blue Beach is the friendliness and true Cretan hospitality of Manolis and his staff.
No matter how long your holiday, it will seem too short - and Blue Beach is a place you ' ll. come back to again and again.
At Blue Beach you' can learn about the places of interest worth visiting and we can arrange excursions (to Samaria Gorge, Knossos etc).
There is a regular bus service from Blue Beach to the centre of Chania and vice versa. Bus schedules vary in frequency depending on the season.
Blue Beach is on the north west of the Akrotiri peninsula of Crete, where the Mediterranean meets the Ionian Sea. The scenery here is so spectacular that it was used as the location for filming "Zorba the Greek". Today, it is still wonderfully unspoiled; an area of natural beauty and tranquility, yet only nine miles from Chania (pronounced, and sometimes spelt Hania) and the beautiful old Venetian port. You can catch a bus into Chania or, if you prefer, Manolis, your host, offers excellent rates for car hire, so that you can explore the beauty of Crete yourself.
