Koropi (boufa)
About Koropi (boufa)
Koropi is a picturesque seaside settlement located in a small fertile valley along the coast, between Kala Nera and Afissos. It belongs to the Municipality of Milea and is 21 km from Volos. The lush greenery stretches all the way to the sea, providing a refreshing atmosphere for swimmers.
The areas seaside attraction is the spacious sandy beach of Boufas on the Pagasetic Gulf. This well-organized beach draws visitors from across Pelion, offering leisure and dining facilities, perfect for swimming and strolling.
Above the main road, at the settlement of Zervochia in the area of Ramnos, there once stood the oracle of Koropian Apollo, from which, according to tradition, the region takes its name. Nearby, at Palaiopyrgos, lie the ruins of Ancient Koropi.
The region is also famous for pear cultivation, particularly the local "Krystalia" variety.
