Anogi
About Anogi
Anogi is a traditional mountain village on the island of Ithaca in the Ionian Islands. It is located at a high elevation on the slopes of Mount Neritos, overlooking much of the island and the Ionian Sea.
Anogi is known for its ancient character and well-preserved stone houses, narrow paths, and quiet, almost timeless atmosphere. It is considered one of the oldest settlements on Ithaca, with local tradition and archaeology suggesting very early habitation in the area.
Today, Anogi is a very quiet village with a small permanent population. It is mainly visited by travelers interested in hiking, history, and panoramic views, offering a peaceful experience away from the coastal tourist areas of Ithaca.
