About Nisyros
Nisyros is a Greek volcanic island located in the southeastern Aegean Sea, part of the Dodecanese group, between Kos and Tilos. It is known for its active volcanic landscape and unique geological features.
The island is dominated by a large volcanic caldera, with the impressive Stefanos crater being one of its main attractions. Nisyros also features traditional villages such as Mandraki, Nikia, and Emporios, characterized by whitewashed houses, stone architecture, and panoramic views of the sea and volcanic terrain.
Today, Nisyros is a destination for geological tourism, hiking, and quiet exploration. It attracts visitors interested in volcanoes, natural landscapes, and authentic island life in a less commercialized environment.
