About Agathonisi
Agathonisi is a small Greek island located in the northern part of the Dodecanese, in the eastern Aegean Sea, close to the coast of Turkey and near the island of Samos. It is one of the most remote and least populated inhabited islands in Greece.
The island features a quiet landscape with low hills, small coves, and crystal-clear waters. Its main settlements are Megalo Chorio and Mikro Chorio, both very small and traditional in character. Agathonisi has minimal infrastructure and no mass tourism development, preserving its natural and authentic environment.
Today, Agathonisi is a destination for extremely quiet and alternative tourism. It attracts visitors seeking isolation, swimming, fishing, and a peaceful island experience far from crowded destinations, offering a simple and untouched Aegean atmosphere.
