About Lamia
Lamia is the capital of Phthiotis and one of the most important urban centers in Central Greece. It is located at the foothills of Mount Othrys, near the Spercheios River, and serves as a key hub in central Greece.
The city has a strong administrative, commercial, and educational role, with modern infrastructure, university departments, and significant economic activity. The Castle of Lamia is one of its main historical landmarks.
Today, Lamia functions as a major regional center, connecting southern and northern Greece and serving as a gateway to the mountainous areas of Phthiotis and the Malian Gulf.
