Pikermi

Pikermi is a suburban residential area located in the eastern part of the Attica region, near the town of Rafina and close to Mount Penteli. It is part of the wider metropolitan area of Athens and has developed mainly as a quiet residential community.

The area is internationally known for the Pikermi fossil site, one of the most important paleontological locations in Europe, where significant animal fossils from the Miocene era have been discovered. This gives Pikermi strong scientific and historical importance beyond its modern residential role.
