 Kioni

Kioni is one of the most beautiful villages in Kefalonia. It is built inside a protected cove. During summer period you will see all sort of yachts mooring at Kioni’s port. In the gulf’s entrance there are three abandoned windmills.
Really impressive is the settlement with old, well-preserved houses. It was built during the 16th century and many residences are saved since then. Neither time nor the catastrophic earthquakes touched these houses. They all managed to stay untouched by them.
Kioni is 34km from Vathi. It has a glorious view and magic beaches. Prefer beaches Katsikouli, Filiatro, Sarakinari and Plakoutses.
While being at the village don’t miss visiting the churches of Evagelistria, Saint Nicholas and Saint John.
In Kioni you will find rooms to let satisfying all demands. Gorge your appetite in the traditional taverns where you can taste fresh fish and other local recipes.
