Diakofti is a beautiful coastal village that enchants every visitor. It is located in the east part of the island, in one of the most idyllic landscapes of Kythira. During the last years in Diakofti operates the island’s new port, protected from the winds and modern.
Swim in the homonym beach, one of the most beautiful in Kythira. It has a blond shore and very shallow waters. It is the ideal beach for children and those who can’t swim.
Right across the beach, you will see the small island of Makrykythira, given to the Company of Greek Penmen. Also known as the “island of penmen”.
In the same region you will see the Saint Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in the island, built in 1840. It is dedicated to Sotira Christ and celebrates on August 6th. At that day every year is organized a traditional festival. It is built on a hill and has a glorious view to the village.
