BEACH OF PERISSA
PERISSA - PERISSA

Perissa Beach, situated on the southeastern coast of Santorini, is one of the island's most famous, well-organized, and visually striking shorelines. Stretching for several kilometers, it merges seamlessly with the neighboring Perivolos Beach, together forming the longest continuous stretch of sand on the island. Its defining feature is the fine, jet-black volcanic sand and dark pebbles which, contrasted against the crystal-clear, deep blue waters, create a uniquely dramatic and exotic coastal landscape.

The natural scenery of Perissa is dominated by the massive ridge of Mesa Vouno, the imposing limestone mountain that rises sharply at the northern end of the beach, separating it from Kamari. This sheer rock face not only shields the coast from northern winds but also provides a ruggedly beautiful backdrop that looks particularly spectacular when illuminated at night. Thanks to its rich marine life and pristine waters, the beach is a frequent recipient of the Blue Flag award, making it a hotspot for swimming and water sports.

Running parallel to the shoreline is a bustling pedestrian promenade that remains vibrant from day to night. Visitors can choose from a vast array of traditional tavernas, international restaurants, cafes, and lively beach clubs that provide sun loungers and umbrellas right on the water's edge. Perissa perfectly balances its unique volcanic nature with comprehensive resort amenities, making it a favorite destination for both relaxation and seaside entertainment in Santorini.
