 The most popular hotels in Greece

 The Greek Tourism Awards “PHILOXENIA Tourism Awards” were given on November 1st during the opening of the 23rd International Tourist Exhibition Philoxenia.
HELEXPO was the host of this institution, which included these awards in its company¢s strategy in order to support the greek tourism.
The travel audience made the judgements through the Philoxenia website. Travelers were more than pleased to vote the best of the greek tourism (the most popular travel destinations – the most popular hotels), since this year were concentrated 60% more votes than last year.
Grecotel comes first in the audience¢s preference for the most favorite hotel chain.
The “Aldemar” and the “Electra Hotels & Resorts” Hotel chains follow, while the multinational chains of Hilton and Hyatt complete the first pentad.
The Grande Bretagne hotel in Syntagma Square won two prizes this year. That of the most luxurious hotel and the best historical or traditional hotel.
Other luxurious hotels prized at the same category are the Elounda Beach in Crete, the Hilton of Athens, the Hyatt Regency in Thessaloniki and the Porto Carras Grand Resort in Chalkidiki.
In the category of the best historical or traditional hotel, were prized the “Imaret” in Kavala, the La Moara in Nimfeo of Florina, the Petrino Suites in Chalkidiki as and the “Spitia of Saxonis” in Papiggo.
The most favorite city hotel was Electra Palace in Thessaloniki, while Grande Bretagne , Hilton of Athens, Hyatt Regency and Makedonia Palace in Thessaloniki followed.
The big hotel complexes in Chalkidiki were prized as the best hotel resorts. Porto Carras was the most favorite tourist resort and Sani Resort was entitled as the friendliest for families with children.
Therme Silla is prized for the second year in row as the best hotel spa. Aldemar Royal Mare in Crete, Porto Carras Grand Resort in Chalkidiki, Grande Bretagne and Divani Apollon Palace & Spa are also in the same category.
The Aldemar Olympian Village in Ilia and the Electra Palace were also prized at the same categories. Rodos Palace and Simantro Beach Hotel in Chalkidiki were at the category for the best family hotels in Greece.

The Small Intimate Hotels have their own place at the Greek Tourism Awards. Santorini was the leader in the category for the most romantic hotel complexes. “Iliotopos” was first, Fanari Villas and Icons followed, as and the hotels Nafplia Palace and Semeli Mountain Resort in Elatochori. The last one was entitled as the most favorite mountain hotel. The Elatos Resort & Health Club in Parnassos, the Hotel Helmos in Kalavryta, the Montana Hotel Spa in Karpenissi and La Moara in Nimfeo followed it.
Fresh of Athens was prized as the best design or boutique hotel. At the same category we find the Danai Beach Resort of Chalkidiki, the “Iliotopos” of Santorini, the Nikopolis of Thessaloniki and the Semiramis of Kifissia.
