Marrakesh is a city in Morocco near the Atlas Mountains, also known as the "Red City" or "Al Hamra". The Medina of Marrakech (old city) has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. The city is served by Menara International Airport (code RAK) and by a rail line to the north and Casablanca.

Marrakesh has a population that exceeds 1,000,000 inhabitants, with data from 2006, while it also gathers a number of Europeans, mainly French, Spanish, Italian, British and Portuguese.
