Pouri is a mountainous village situated at an altitude of 450 meters, 53 km from Volos. It is the last village along the main road of Eastern Pelion, nestled within a chestnut forest and renowned for its traditional Pelion architecture. The village offers breathtaking views, earning it the nickname “the balcony of the Aegean.”
The village square is divided into three levels and is surrounded by numerous taverns where you can savor local cuisine, as well as cafés where you can enjoy your coffee while admiring the panorama that stretches all the way to the Aegean Sea and the Sporades islands. During your stay in Pouri, make sure to visit the Monastery of Panagia Rasova, which dates back to the 13th century.
Nearby, you will find two secluded beaches. If you want to escape the crowds, enjoy the crystal-clear waters and golden sands of Elitsa Beach (3 km) or Ovriou Beach (8 km). For hiking enthusiasts, a scenic trail leads to the abandoned village of Palia Mitzela, offering unforgettable landscapes and colors that can only be experienced in the magical Pelion.
