Metsovo is one of the most beautiful settlements in Ioannina. A walk around the cobblestone pavements will fascinate every lover of nature. The three ski centers of Metsovo have made this region famous amongst skiers, who can enjoy here their favorite sport, snowboard and snowmobile.

The first of the three ski centers is in Karakoli, a region verdurous of beech trees 1,5 km from Metsovo. It belongs to the Institution of Mihail Tositsas and has two ski runs, a lift, restaurant, café, ski school, renting equipment store and artificial snow system.

The second center is in Polisies region in Prophet Elia. It is a magnificent landscape with pine trees, firs and beech trees. The ski runs are inside the forest viewing at the mountains of Pindos, Mavrovouni, Katara, Zygos and Kontorahi.
This ski center has three trailing railways and 6 runs. It is considered ideal for learning how to ski.
Politsora run is the most impressive of all, as it has a synthetic tapis and operates all year round. Polisies ski center has also a tubing run with synthetic tapis, artificial snow system and a snow-plough. If you want to relax visit the restaurant or the café-bar, while if you want to learn how to ski, there is a ski school with trained teachers to show you the right way.

The third ski center is in Zygos location, south of the roadway of Metsovo-Trikala. It has three ski runs and a two-seated lift. Still there are plans for its modernization, in order to satisfy even the most demanding skiers.
