Sifnos stays true to traditions and keeps customs like: panigiras, of local carols, of weddings, of lolopanigiros, of Mr. Vorias’ dance, of Halloween dances with kamilosies (disguise), of carnival’s, of Pastos’, etc. In most churches and monasteries of the island are held traditional feasts with common dinners that remind of the ancient “estiasi” and the newyear “agapes”. Necessarily they include the traditional revithada, meat with pasta or potatoes, vakalao with potatoes, salad, wine and traditional music with violin and laouto.
