Dorovinis Country Houses
Vassilis and Ioanna Dorovinis, experts in Greek Heritage, are engaged in a conservation project in the historic village of Anatoli, municipality of Ierapetra, Southeastern Crete, Greece. The project concerns the restoration of individual village houses and their conversion into luxury vacation houses.
Three (3) houses have already being restored in an exemplary way, combining the lost qualities of traditional home architecture with modern facilities and luxury.
The houses are representative of the local prototypes and have been restored with respect to their authenticity. Their unique character has been enhanced with beautiful detailing and the introduction of elements of the traditional Cretan vocabulary.
They are oriented towards southeast, capturing magnificent views from every room, terrace or courtyard to the Libyan Sea. Their interiors are furnished with selected pieces from 19th century neoclassical Greece and with paintings of well known Greek artists.
Two (2) more houses in the old market street are currently being restored as a Sitting Lounge-Coffee and Drinks House (offering also light meals), which is due to open this summer. In the future plans are the restoration of five (5) new houses, of a central house for Reception-Art Shop (art and architecture books, jewelry, terra cota works etc) and the building of a swimming pool complex with spa, open air Jacuzzi and beauty services.
